NEW DELHI: In 2009, 29-year old Robin Khan joined Delhi Police as a constable. However, due to his bad attitude and lack of discipline, he was dismissed from service within three months of his training. Khan then allegedly took to duping people by threatening them and posing as a Delhi Police SI. The fake cop was finally arrested in Meerut. Khan's father is an SI in ITBP and currently posted in Chandigarh.
Police said that the cheating came to light when a complaint was registered by a resident of Model Town, Shri Chand, who alleged that a fake Delhi Police sub-inspector had implicated his son in a fake case and had taken him along to Jaipur in Rajasthan.

During investigation the man was identified as Khan, a resident of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, who cheated people while posing as a cop. "He had even been declared a proclaimed offender by a court in a similar cases of impersonation," said a senior police officer.Khan was also involved in two similar cases registered against him in Karol Bagh and the other in Rajasthan.
"Following surveillance, a police team from Rajouri Garden zeroed in on his hideout in Meerut. However, when a team raided his house to arrest him, he locked himself in a room. However, the police team finally managed to arrest him from Ganga Nagar in Meerut," the officer said.
