Counselling Details

The details and schedule of counselling would be available on the websites of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education Directorates of States as applicable.

The counselling would be conducted by the respective Counselling Authorities subject to prevailing rules and norms for admission in Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges under their ambit. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the respective Counselling Authorities and Institutions concerned for further details.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India will conduct the Counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU & AMU. Candidates may visit website www.mcc.nic.in for further information. Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted.

Delhi (75.5%) recorded the highest percentage of qualification with respect to number of candidates appearing from the state, followed by Haryana with 72.9%.

According to the data released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the examination, eight students from AP secured a spot in the top 50, which is highest by any state, followed by seven from Telangana, six from Delhi and four each from Kerala, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Tummala Snikitha from Telangana secured the all-India third rank in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), results of which were released on Friday. She scored 715 out of 720. In all, 15 students from Telangana (7) and Andhra Pradesh (8) made it to the top 50 list - a marked improvement over 2019 when only four students from the two states made it to the coveted list.

Two candidates scored a perfect 720 in this year’s National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), but Odisha’s Soyeb Aftab was ranked first for being older than Delhi girl Akanksha Singh. Results for the MBBS/ BDS entrance test were declared by the National Testing Authority on Friday evening.

Vasco resident Rubiya Shaikh has bettered the best-known score from Goa at NEET(UG), results for which were announced on Friday, scoring 675 out of 720. The student of Cujira-based Mushtifund Aryaan higher secondary school has now set her sights on joining one of the top-ranked medical colleges in Delhi. In 2017, Pratheek Rebello had scored 660 out of 720 from Goa, which was the best-known so far from the state at the all-India medical entrance test in its NEET(UG) format.

A total of 7,71,500 candidates have qualified the exam for which over 13.66 lakh candidates had appeared. The highest number of qualifying candidates are from Tripura (88,889) followed by Maharashtra (79,974). (PTI)
