UP: BJP functionary shot dead in Firozabad

A 40-year-old BJP functionary was shot dead allegedly over personal enmity outside his shop in Narkhi police station area of Firozabad. The deceased neta was identified as Dayashankar Gupta, who was the mandal vice-president. Police said the victim owned a grocery store in the Nagla area.

LUCKNOW: A 40-year-old BJP functionary was shot dead allegedly over personal enmity outside his shop in Narkhi police station area of Firozabad. The deceased neta was identified as Dayashankar Gupta, who was the mandal vice-president. Police said the victim owned a grocery store in the Nagla area.
According to the police, around 8.30pm, unidentified miscreants reached his shop and opened several rounds of fire before vanishing into thin air.

Later, scores of neighbours gathered and informed the police. Senior police officers arrived at the scene and sent the victim to Agra for better treatment.
Inspector General of police, Agra Range, A Satish Ganesh, told TOI that the victim was declared brought at the Agra Medical College. He met the family members of the victim and assured full support from the police.
The IG said that that prima facie it appeared to be personal enmity which led to the murder.
