NEW DELHI: City’s famous
Kalkaji Mandir will be opening for devotees from Saturday when the nineday long Navratri festival starts.
In the wake of huge public demand, a decision to open the temple was taken by the southeast district administration at a meeting on Friday, which was also attended by Kalkaji MLA Atishi and Greater Kailash MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj. The temple, which attracts devotees from all over Delhi-NCR and other areas, had been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bharadwaj said guidelines for social distancing and contactless puja have been finalised.
“The entry will be allowed only from Lotus Temple side and devotees will have to exit from Kalkaji Metro station side. No offerings, including prasad and flowers, will be allowed,” he said.
