Shahid Kapoor wraps up Jersey schedule, thanks Uttarakhand government for support
Shahid Kapoor announced the schedule wrap of his upcoming film Jersey on social media.
Shahid Kapoor has wrapped up the shooting of Jersey in Uttarakhand. He took to social media to announce the news. The actor thanked the government of Uttarakhand for their support and film policies. He had recently resumed shooting for the film after the production was halted in March due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. He is playing a cricketer in the film.
The actor wrote, "It’s a wrap on this schedule of #Jersey. I would like to thank the Govt of Uttarakhand for supporting and putting in place efficient policies that enabled us to safely shoot and wrap the schedule of our film in the many beautiful locations of the state (sic)."

Last month, Shahid Kapoor shared a video of him practising cricket for Jersey and wrote that he is missing his boys. He wrote, "Can’t wait to get back. Missing my boys @rajivmehra1988 n @harshuln #jersey (sic)."
Extensive training for the role
Shahid Kapoor trained hard for his role of a cricketer in Jersey. The actor practised the nuances of cricket under experts guidance and also worked on his fitness before kicking off the shoot. However, he had to stop shooting as film production was halted due to the novel coronavirus. He was also injured on the sets of the film.
Shahid: Jersey is a personal film
Talking about Jersey, in an earlier interview, Shahid had said, "Jersey is a personal film. It's a human journey and it touched me deeply. It's a very emotional film. I am guessing both films must have there own individual identity. I am definitely looking forward to seeing 83 (Ranveer Singh's film on India's World Cup win)."
Jersey is the remake of Telugu sports drama of the same name starring Nani. Gowtam Tinnanuri, who directed the Telugu film, is helming the Hindi film starring Shahid Kapoor.
