Goa: NDA ally says BJP minister shared porn clip on WhatsApp, minister says phone hacked

PANAJI: Goa Forward Party on Monday accused deputy chief minister Chandrakant Kavlekar of sexual harassment and outraging women’s modesty by allegedly sharing a porn clip on a social media group where women, activists and government officers are members.
Kavlekar on his part has filed a police complaint with the crime branch alleging that his phone was hacked at night while he was sleeping by an unknown person who subsequently uploaded the video on the WhatsApp group.
GFP’s women’s wing said that they were “seriously aggrieved” by the obscene clip which was uploaded on the Villages of Goa WhatsApp group from Kavlekar’s cellphone.
“We cannot have leaders like this in the state. The BJP women leaders are endorsing leaders like this to run the state,” said state general secretary Clara Rodrigues.
GFP said that by sharing the porn clip on social media, Kavlekar should be booked under Section 67 and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. In a written complaint submitted at the Panaji Women’s Police Station, GFP said that Kavlekar should also be booked for sexual harassment under section 354A of the Indian Penal Code as he shared sexually explicit content with women.
“We demand that the chief minister takes action on this,” said Rodrigues.
