HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee on Monday launched a postcard campaign urging the Centre to take all measures for the safety and security of the women in the country.
Postcards with slogans like "stop blaming the victim," "give security to women" will be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, by women from every village in Telangana.

Mahila Congress state president Nerella Sharada said atrocities against women have increased in the country, including Telangana. “We are seeking justice for the Hathras gang-rape victim and her family. The Congress women workers will write to PM Modi and CM Adityanath seeking speedy trial of the case and justice to the victim’s family,” she said.
As part of the campaign, the Mahila Congress members will also send postcards to the PM and UP CM requesting them not to support the accused in the case. It looks like attempts are being made to protect the accused in the alleged gang-rape incident of Hathras, Sharada said.
The national-level campaign was launched by All India Mahila Congress chief Sushmita Dev in Assam on Wednesday.
