Telangana reports 1,486 new Civid-19 cases, 7 deaths

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Tuesday recorded 1,486 new cases of Covid-19 and 7 deaths. With this the total count of cases reported so far is 2,24,545 while the total number of deaths is 1,282. So far, 2,02,577 patients in the state have recovered from the coronavirus infection even as 20,686 patients remain as active cases.
The recovery rate in the state meanwhile increased to 90.2 percent on Tuesday continuing an upward climb.The average recovery rate in the country is currently 88.6 percent. An improving recovery rate is a good sign indicating that more people are recovering from the virus infection. Meanwhile, 42,299 tests were conducted on Tuesday, taking the total number of people tested in the state till date to nearly 39 lakh. Samples tested per million population has now touched 1,04,750 in the state, which is among the higher ones in the country.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 235 new cases which is the highest among districts. This was followed by Ranga Reddy with 112 cases, Medchal Malkajgiri with 102 cases, Bhadadri Kothagudem with 98 cases, Khammam with 89 cases, Nalgonda with 82 cases and Karimnagar with 69 cases, even as all other districts recorded new cases.
