Former Disney CFO accuses couple of squatting in his $2.2M Connecticut mansion and 'taking advantage' of the state's no-eviction moratorium by not paying the $11,000-per-month rent

A former Disney chief financial officer claims that a couple has been squatting in his $2.2million Connecticut mansion since June.
In an affidavit filed in Norwalk Housing Court, Lawrence Rutkowski alleges that A. Mark Getachew and his wife, Denora, have been taking 'advantage of the no-eviction moratorium' in the state.
According to the New York Post, Rutkowski rented his Greenwich home out to the Getachews beginning in June but they haven't paid rent since they moved in.
'It is clear that they have no intention of paying rent — now or in the future because they know Governor [Ned] Lamont keeps extending the 'no-eviction' moratorium,' Rutkowski said in the affidavit.
Rutkowski also claimed that Mark, who is a lawyer at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and his wife have done alterations on the home and caused significant damage to the nearly 8,000sqft residence.

According to Rutkowski, the alterations were done 'without my consent', which is in violation of the lease.
Rutkowski, who is a California resident, said the Getachews even ran up large bills in his name, including one for pool repairs that cost $45,000.
In the affidavit, Rutkowski said his pool repairman found some minor repairs that needed to be done on the pool, but wouldn't cost more than $3,000.
Rutkowski claims that Mark 'unjustly fired' the pool repairman and hired his own.
The new repairman dug up 'all of the piping around the pool and associated parts of the pool' and replaced them, Rutkowski said.
Rutkowski called the situation 'a nightmare for me' and said the Getachews 'are the worst type of tenants one can imagine'.
But the Getachews are telling a different story.
The Getachews were actually the ones who initiated the housing court case in August, the Post reported.

According to their complaint, they had to spend their own money for repairs to the pool, air conditioning system and other parts of the house during the first three months at the residence
The couple claimed they haven't been paying rent on the home because they haven't been reimbursed for the repairs
They claimed that they only agreed to rent the home for $11,000-per-month with the understanding that there was a working pool with luxurious features that included a hot tub and waterfall feature.
The Getachews allege that Rutkowski lied when he said the pool and its amenities 'were in good working condition'.
According to their complaint, they had to spend their own money for repairs to the pool, air conditioning system and other parts of the house during the first three months at the residence.
'In total, tenants have incurred no less than $46,356.22 to repair and replace broken items in and on the premises … that are landlord's responsibility to address,' according to the complaint from the Getachews.
The Getachews said that Rutkowski told them to deduct the repair costs from their rent but backpedaled when he realized the repairs cost more than the amount of rent due.
The couple claimed they haven't been paying rent because they haven't been reimbursed for the repairs.
The single-family home was built in 1981 and underwent renovations in 2014. It features five bedrooms and nine bathrooms, a full pool and spa and an enclosed backyard.
It's also conveniently located a short distance to both the town of Greenwich and the Merritt Parkway for easy access to New York City.
