THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With CPI state executive also giving its green signal for including Kerala Congress (M)
Jose K Mani faction in the LDF, the LDF meeting scheduled on Thursday will only be a formality. The party with two MLAs is all set to be the 11th constituent in LDF.
At the CPI executive meet, state secretary Kanam Rajendran spoke about the discussion he had with Mani last week and the dialogue he had with CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
Rajendran said CPM wanted to include KC(M) as a constituent and the move would be a rude shock for UDF in the run up to the local body poll.
Though the panel discussed the earlier position the party had taken against KC (M), it concluded that for seizing political advantage, LDF should act smart.
“The opinion of CPI is that there is no need to oppose a party which has taken a stand to weaken UDF,” he said. To a query about the past positions taken by CPI against KC(M), Rajendran said it was natural to change position when KC(M) changed its position.
