Stock market update: Auto stocks slip; Hero MotoCorp sheds 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading with losses at 12:30PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Hero MotoCorp (down 1.84 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 1.44 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 1.35 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 1.24 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki (down 0.96 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Ashok Leyland (up 2.98 per cent), MRF (up 1.4 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.19 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.1 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.42 per cent down at 7844.85 around 12:30PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 53.90 points at 11883.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 194.46 points at 40512.85.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Vedanta , Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hathway Cable, Tata Elxsi, Ceat, JSW Steel and ACC hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd., Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., Madhya Pradesh Today Media Ltd., Silver Touch Technologies Ltd. and Shrenik Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
