SAMS Odisha second merit list of Plus III 1st year published

BHUBANESWAR: Merit list of second round selection of Plus III first year was published on Thursday. A total of 22,016 students have been selected in the second round. Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar has topped the cut-off mark list of different subjects.
As many as 10,532 male and 11,484 female students selected in first round will take admission between October 27 and November 3.
Online updation of data of the students will be carried out during this admission.
BJB Autonomous College was in the top of cut-off mark lists for 22 subjects in five streams. The college has topped the list in 13 out of 29 subjects of Arts stream, four subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry and statistics) in physical science, two subjects (botany and zoology) in biological science, two subjects (biotechnology and computer science) in self financing stream and one in commerce stream.
This premier college has set 95 per cent for mathematics subject in physical science category, 93.5 per cent in zoology in biological science, 89.4 per cent in geography honours subject of Arts stream, 88 per cent for biotechnology and 86 per cent for commerce subject.
BJB College is the sought after college for geography, economics, English, psychology, sociology, political science, mathematics, education, history, Hindi, philosophy, statistics and music in Arts stream. Other colleges include Khallikote Autonomous College Berhampur has set the cut-off mark at 89.2 per cent for anthropology. Rajendra Autonomous College Balangir and SCS Autonomous College Puri are in the top of cut-off list for Odia and Sanskrit respectively.

If a student wants to take admission in his/her choice of higher option college, he/she has to fill up an online Slide-Up form to get this facility. Previously, students were getting auto slide-up facility. Total 39,825 students have requested for higher option. So far 9,276 students have been selected from slide-up request.
If any seats lie vacant after second round selection, admission will be conducted for balance seats on spot selection. Department is yet to declare the dates of spot selection. The state has 2,49,790 seats in 1029 degree colleges. This year, 2,12,998 students have applied online for Plus III admission.
Classes of plus III first year students were commenced from August 24 last year and July 16 in 2018. But this year, the state government is yet to announce the date of commencement of classes.
