Thane police bust gang adulterating, selling ghee, edible oil; 5 held

KALYAN: Thane police busted a gang manufacturing and selling adulterated ghee and edible oil, packaging it as branded products. . Five persons were arrested from Thane district and Mumbai. Police raided a godown in Dahisar, Mumbai, where main accused Chandresh Mirani (50) used to manufacture the oil and sell it to other accused cheaper. One thousand kg of adulterated ghee, edible oil and branded companies’ packaging material were recovered.
Officials said recently they got information that Alpesh Gor (36) from Dombivli was selling adulterated ghee and edible oil.Senior inspector Sanju John formed a team which arrested Gor. His interrogation led to the arrest of four others.
The others arrested were Jimit Gathani (33), Saud Shaikh (32) and Dhanraj Mehta (62). Police said they were looking out for other accused.
