Counter FIR lodged in Ballia murder case

VARANASI: Following the court's order, Ballia police on Friday evening lodged an FIR against 21 known and 30 unknown persons in Durjanpur murder case at Revati police station.
The Revati police inspector Pravin Kumar Singh said that the FIR was lodged under sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 308, 336, 506 of IPC and 7 CL Act on the complaint of Asha Pratap Singh from the side of main accused Dhirendra Pratap Singh.

Dhirendra had allegedly killed a local resident Jaiprakash Pal in full public view and in presence of SDM, circle officer, SO Revati, policemen and hundreds of villagers at Durjanpur village during the allotment process of a fair price shop on October 15.
Dhirendra, his two cousins and seven others, who were booked under sections 147, 148, 149, 302, 323, 352, 504, 506 of IPC and 7 CLA Act, were arrested till October 18. After his arrest by STF near Janeshwar Park in Lucknow, Dhirendra was brought to Ballia and was produced before the CJM court on October 19. His bail plea was rejected by the CJM, and he was sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
Meanwhile, his sister-in-law Asha Pratap Singh gave a petition in the court of a judicial magistrate on Thursday seeking an FIR to be registered against the rivals. The court on Friday ordered the police to lodge an FIR and investigate the matter.
According to reports, Asha had also threatened for self-immolation along with seven other women of the family if police didn't register the case by Friday evening.
Meanwhile, the police got a breakthrough when they recovered the revolver used in the crime. The police had taken him to the village in search of the arms after getting a 48-hour remand on Thursday. The police recovered the revolver hidden under a tree near his house. After the recovery, a section 30 of Arms Act was added in the FIR lodged against him and others.
