BHUBANESWAR: The state
government has set March
2021 as deadline to complete
infrastructure works at the
Aluminium Park, Angul, a joint venture of Nalco and
Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco).
As the state government has started receiving investment intents in aluminium downstream industries, emphasis has been given on early completion of the infrastructure works at the proposed site.
Idco chairman-cum-managing director Sanjay Singh recently visited the site and directed officials concerned to expeditiously complete the infrastructure works in the next five months.
“Work on infrastructure development within the proposed Aluminium Park is going on in full swing. The proposed park will be ready by March next year. Instructions have been issued accordingly,” said Singh. Though land acquisition for the project has been completed, infrastructure works like civil works, construction of approach road, water supply, electricity connection and other related works are being taken up on a priority basis, said Singh.
Spread over 223 acres, the proposed Aluminium Park is considered as a major infrastructure boost for the aluminum downstream industries. Investors in the Aluminium Park will directly obtain molten aluminium from the Nalco’s smelter. A number of investors have evinced interest to set up their facilities in the proposed aluminium park, said Singh.
The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 99.60 crore, including a central grant of Rs 33.44 crore.
The Centre accorded approval to the project in August, 2015. The aluminium park will have some exclusive common facilities for the investors like aluminium product evaluation centre with full-fledged tool room, testing facilities and evaluation and prototype development facilities, said an official source.
It has been developed as a plug and play infrastructure that means a well-designed and ready to move-in infrastructure facility.
