PRAYAGRAJ: A Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM) leader was issued a Rs 11,000 challan by Pratapgarh police after he drove his four-wheeler in a no-entry zone near Kotwali area on Sunday.
Irked by police action, BJYM district president Ravi Gupta created ruckus and demanded action against inspector Kotwali who he alleged had wrongfully fined him.
Acting on the complaint, SP Pratapgarh Anurag Arya ordered CO (city) Abhai Kumar Pandey to probe the incident and submit a report within 72 hours.

CO (city) Pandey said, “Inspector Kotwali had issued the challan after the BJYM leader drove into a no-entry zone on Dussehra. Police had restricted traffic in the area in view of Dussehra.”
Gupta got into an argument after being challaned and raised the matter with senior police officials. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
Pandey said, “In his complaint to senior officials, Gupta alleged that Kotwali police had wrongfully issued the challan and has demanded action against the inspector.”
