Uttar Pradesh: Folk singer suffer bullet injuries in celebratory firing at a party hosted by BJYM leader in Ballia

VARANASI: A folk singer from Bihar suffered bullet injuries in celebratory firing during a birthday party hosted by Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s district unit vice president Bhanu Dubey at his residence in Mahakarpur village under the limits of Ballia district on Monday night.
Golu Raja, the injured singer, who was initially admitted to a hospital in Buxar (Bihar), was referred to Varanasi for surgery.SP Ballia Devendra Nath said that the condition of the singer was stable and police were trying to nab the person who opened fire after lodging an FIR with Gadwar police station. Video clips showing how Golu Raja suffered bullet injury while performing a song went viral on social media.

SP Ballia said that Bhanu Dubey had hosted a party at his residence to celebrate the birthday of his son. The team of folk singer from Bihar Golu Raja had been called to perform, he said adding, during his performance someone opened fire.
In the same firing Golu Raja suffered bullet injury in his hand and later the bullet stuck in his stomach, he said adding, he had contacted doctors, who were treating the singer, to know his condition. The doctors informed that singer was stable and referred to Varanasi for surgery, said SP.
When contacted, SO Gadwar Anil Chand Tiwari said that the FIR had been lodged against an unidentified person in this connection.
