CHINSURAH: A toto driver in Hooghly's Baidyabati was murdered and his body chopped to pieces after he reportedly refused to end his relationship with a woman whom a notorious history-sheeter, Bishal Das, was apparently eyeing. Two aides of Das, who was out on bail in a murder case, have been arrested.
Bishnu Mal (23) was allegedly kidnapped near his home at Kamarpara Rayerber on October 11 and police recovered parts of his body near a canal along Delhi Road late on Monday.
His parents and neighbours alleged Das and his gang were behind the kidnap and murder. Bishnu's father Tarak and sister Kajal said Bishnu's marriage was fixed with a local girl, but Bishal often threatened him against continuing with the relationship.
As the news of the murder spread, Chinsurah residents staged an agitation against Bishal's gang and lodged complaints at Chinsurah police station. Chandernagore police commissioner Humayun Kabir said, "We arrested Krishna Mondal and Rajkumar Pramanik who confessed to the murder. We are searching for two others. But Bishal has fled. This was a fallout of a love triangle."
