Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Saurabh Tiwary, ahead of his team's clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday, have said that the defeat in 2 Super Over matches shows the good cricket the 4-time champions have played throughout the season. Notably, Mumbai Indians have lost in the Super Over eliminators against RCB and KXIP earlier this season.

Tiwary, who played the starting two fixtures of MI before getting injured and then coming back in the playing XI of the last two matches of his team, credited the quality of practice sessions for the good performance of Mumbai. He added that none reliabilty of any player on the other was the biggest trait of the Mumbai Indians squad.

Saurabh Tiwary, who has scored of 42, 21 and 34 in his 3 innings this season, asserted that Mumbai have their eyes set on qualifying for the play-offs first and then finishing in the top-two. He reckoned that Mumbai's winning margins have been good and that has helped in maintaining a good NRR.

"The best thing is that we are winning. The way we are practising and given the atmosphere here, you can't really ask for anything better. We have been in great nick the whole season and the reason behind it is the practice we have been doing.

"Be it here in UAE or in Mumbai. Our biggest quality is that nobody is dependent on the other, which is a great sign. I played two matches and got injured and now I have got few matches again. Touchwood, the batting has been fine and the reason behind is it the practice we are doing.

"We don't feel like it's a practice season. it feels like we are playing a proper match. We had faced two defeats in Super Over and this shows the good cricket we have been playing. When we are winning then the margins are good and that is why out NRR is also very good.

"The target for us is to finish in top-two. The first stage for us is to qualify and the second is to qualify in top-2. We are in the first stage but our eyes are set on the second stage as well. We will keep assessing the targets as and when we achieve each target. Touchwood, let us just take one step at a time," Saurabh Tiwary said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians official Twitter handle.

Top-placed Mumbai Indians will be facing second-placed RCB in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The winner of the match will move closer to the play-offs berth and will also go on to occupy the top spot in the points table.
