    Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth on Thursday confirmed that while the letter that went viral on social media about the actor's entry into politics was fake, he conceded that the information about doctors advising him against campaigning was indeed true.

On Thursday, Rajinikanth took to Twitter to dismiss the letter but went on to admit that the contents with regard to his health issues were true. The doctors had allegedly advised Rajinikanth against entering politics owing to a kidney transplant that he underwent in 2016 while also expressing concern over Covid-19.

    He would discuss with Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) and would announce his political stand "at an appropriate time.” The actor, who has been flirting with politics for a while now and launched the RMM as a “launch vehicle" for his proposed political party at the beginning of 2018.
