On loan Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson could return to the Cardiff City starting line-up for Saturday’s clash with Queens Park Rangers.
The Wales international was a surprise absentee from Cardiff’s 1-1 draw with Derby County at Pride Park on Wednesday night.
City boss Neil Harris revealed after the game that the Reds loanee picked up a problem during training the day before the trip to the East Midlands.
However, Harris has now given a further update on Wilson’s fitness and is hopeful the midfielder will return to action this weekend.
"Right at the end of training yesterday [Tuesday], just a hip flexor, his left groin area, tightened up," Harris told Wales Online.
"We are hopeful that there is no long term in it, we are hoping it's a really short turnaround. I'm not sure if we'll see him on the weekend, we will have to see when we are back in tomorrow and Friday.
"To lose him, he is a big blow because he started like a house on fire with us. So he's not going to be long.”

Wilson signed for Cardiff on the final day of the domestic transfer window and he has already emerged as a key attacking player for the Bluebirds as they aim to mount a promotion challenge.
The Reds had been looking to offload the Wales international on a permanent deal during the summer, but saw Burnley walk away from negotiations before the end of the European transfer deadline after they saw a £12m plus £3m in add-ons bid for Wilson rejected.
Liverpool had initially been looking for around £20million for Wilson, but the 23-year-old remained on the Anfield club's books after no side met their valuation.
