Northwestern’s Heart O’ North Conference football game set for Friday, Oct. 30, at Barron has been canceled due to low numbers, according to Barron athletic director Ky Baumgard.
Baumgard said the team is continuing to practice.
Northwestern is 4-1, while Barron is 2-3. The Tigers’ next game will be against Cameron at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in Maple.
While the coronavirus pandemic has greatly altered the sports landscape in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the Heart O’ North Conference football season has been about the closest thing to normal the community has seen in the COVID-19 era. After starting the season late, all games had gone on as scheduled until now.
