Bengaluru: Four rowdies, six others in police net for planning dacoities

BENGALURU: Sleuths from Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Wednesday arrested 10 people, including four rowdy-sheeters,while preparing to commit dacoities in two separate cases.
Acting on a tipoff about a gang armed with lethal weapons waiting near BBMP playground in Vijayanagar to loot the public on Wednesday night, a police team rushed to the spot. Chandra alias Kariya, 35, a rowdy-sheeter in Vijayanagar police station; Huchchegowda alias Handi Huchcha, 36, a rowdy-sheeter in Kamakshipalya police station and their associates - Yogesh, 34, Rakesh, 33, Arunkumar alias Parivala, 26, and Manjunatha, 28 - were arrested.
In another case, four people, including two rowdy-sheeters from Railway Layout near Jnanabharathi, were arrested on Wednesday night.The accused are: Karthik alias Chappar, 32, from Ullal and a rowdy-sheeter in Jnanabharathi, Tavarekere and Byadarahalli police stations; Hemanth Kumar alias Mindri, 36, of Ullal, a rowdy-sheeter in Tavarekere police station and their aides Shivaswamy, 35 of Vidyaman Nagar and Prabhat alias Prabhu, 28, of Yelahanka.
Police said both the gangs were planning to loot the public and have seized lethal weapons from the accused.
