Fargo North scored a defensive touchdown and once on special teams in beating Grand Forks Central 22-0 on Thursday night in the season finale for both teams at Cushman Field.

The Spartans finish the year 2-5, while the Knights end at 1-6.

Central head coach Bill Lorenz and starting quarterback Ty Lorenz missed the game as both were in quarantine as close contacts for a COVID-19 exposure.

Cole Barta led the offense in Lorenz's place. He had 74 yards passing and 20 rushing to pace the offense. North's David Shilling ran for 150 yards and threw for 85.

Central wide receiver Sam Strandell had three catches for 42 yards.
