In a shocking incident of violence over a money dispute, a man who was set afire in UP's Amethi districy on Friday succumbed to his injuries while being referred to Lucknow for treatment.

LUCKNOW: Husband of a dalit village pradhan in Amethi suffered severe burns under mysterious circumstances late Thursday night by his associates- turned-rival under Munshiganj police station.
The victim Arjun Kori in his dying declaration accused his associate turned rivals of kidnapping him and then setting him ablaze. The police acting on the complaint of the victim arrested three men and a minor while efforts to nab others were underway.
Police said that Arjun Kori was husband of Chhotka, who is currently gram pradhan of Bandoiya village.


Chhotka in her FIR has stated that around 6 pm on Thursday, Arjun had gone to purchase vegetables and went missing. She also informed the Inspector of Munshiganj police station about the same.
Around 11.30 pm, she was informed by police to visit Bhetua community health center where her injured husband was undergoing treatment.
Arjun in his dying declaration in front of his wife, doctor, and other officials stated that Rajesh Mishra, Krishna Kumar Tiwari, Ashutosh, Ravishankar, Santosh Kumar Tiwari had kidnapped him and then taken him to the place of Krishna Kumar Tiwari.

“The named persons pressured the victim to give money and later set him ablaze,” said the police on the basis of a declaration made by Arjun.
The victim also told us that thereafter the accused fled from the spot and locals informed UP 112 vehicle which took the injured Arjun to local health centre and also informed Munshiganj police.
Superintendent of police, Amethi, Dinesh Singh told TOI that Arjun was referred to Lucknow where he died on the way.
Three of the accused named by the victim have been arrested with immediate effect while one is a minor. “Two others who are not associated with the incident have also been named by the victim who would also be questioned in connection with the incident,” he said. Several teams are working on the incident.
