Job scam: Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank MDs among 8 booked

Eight government officials were booked on Thursday and an inquiry launched into fraudulent recruitments done over a five-year span in the state cooperative department during the Samajwadi Party regime.

LUCKNOW: Eight government officials were booked on Thursday and an inquiry launched into fraudulent recruitments done over a five-year span in the state cooperative department during the Samajwadi Party regime.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) lodged an FIR on chief minister’s directive and booked eight persons, including top officers and employees of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank and managing committee of Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Institutional Service Board.

Cooperative Bank managing directors Heera Lal Yadav and Ravikant Singh and Cooperative Institutional Service Board chairman Ramjatan Yadav, secretary Rakesh Mishra and board member Santosh Srivastava were booked for fraud, forgery, dishonesty and criminal conspiracy.
Hirings were done for temporary posts without following eligibility criteria
Owner of the computer agency that conducted recruitment tests, Ram Pravesh Yadav, was also booked.
The anomalies were detected during recruitments to various posts between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2017.
A preliminary probe showed UP Cooperative Institutional Service Board floated 40 advertisements for 2,343 posts, filled 2,324 posts and left 19 vacant.
In 2015, recruitments were done for temporary posts without following eligibility criteria at the behest of bank managing director Heera Lal Yadav.

Similarly, the institutional service board recruited assistant managers for 50 posts, assistant manager (computer) for three posts and manager for five posts and 30 for cashiers.
All these appointments were done junking eligibility criteria.
