PM Modi takes maiden seaplane flight from Kevadia to Ahmedabad

PM Narendra Modi took the maiden flight of India’s first seaplane service from the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Narmada to the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad. The flight was operated by SpiceJet's fully-owned subsidiary, Spice Shuttle. SpiceJet will operate two daily flights on the Ahmedabad-Kevadia route effective October 31.

AHMEDABAD: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday took the maiden flight of India’s first seaplane service from the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Narmada to the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad. The flight was operated by SpiceJet's fully-owned subsidiary, Spice Shuttle.
The seaplane service which was launched under the regional connectivity scheme (RCS) - UDAN is expected to boost tourism, while providing last-mile connectivity to people.

Soon after landing at Ahmedabad, PM Modi inaugurated the water drome at the Sabarmati riverfront, after which he left for Delhi from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad. SpiceJet will operate two daily flights on the Ahmedabad-Kevadia route effective October 31.
The PM took the 50-minute seaplane ride from Kevadia to Ahmedabad. The service will now be open to the public from Sunday onwards. Booking for a sea plane ride has already begun online and is expected to begin on the website as well. However, sources confirmed that passengers were unable to make confirmed bookings.
Ahead of taking the maiden flight, PM Modi marked the celebration of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' on account of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.
The Sabarmati Riverfront Road along the eastern and western bank of the city was completely cordoned off for the PM’s security. PM Modi reached Gujarat on Friday morning, after which he paid his respects to the former CM of Gujarat, Keshubhai Patel, who died earlier this week and to popular Gujarati actor and musician, Naresh Kanodia and Mahesh Kanodia, who also passed away recently.
