PATNA: Bihar CM and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar on Wednesday raked up the contentious National Register of Citizens (NRC) issue while addressing a rally in Kishanganj, saying no one in this country has the power to drive out any community from the country.
Addressing the rally in Muslim-dominated Kochadhaman constituency in the district, Nitish said, “All are natives of Hindustan and no one would drive them out of the country.”
“Kaun kisko iss desh se bahar karega? Ye Iss desh mein Kisi ke pass dam nahi hai.
Sab Hindustan Ke hai. Sab Bharat Ke hai. Kaun Kisko Bahar Karega?” Nitish said while responding to a previous speakers’ apprehension on the issue of CAA-NRC.
CM: We have zero tolerance policy on crime
Addressing the meeting before the CM, a few Muslim speakers said members of a particular party had been rumour among the members of minority communities that they would be driven out of India and their properties would be seized once the NRC and CAA are enforced.
The JD(U) president addressed a series of six election rallies at different places in Kishanganj, Araria, Saharsa and Madhepura districts. He told people how his government has played a leading role in advancing Bihar in the field of agriculture. He also recounted the work done for the progress of the minorities.

Addressing a gathering at Thakurganj in Kishanganj district, the CM said, “I had realized that people here are interested in agriculture hence an agriculture college has been built in the name of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Now a Veterinary and Home Science College is also being constructed here.
It was us who have decided to make the oldest hall of Patna- the Anjuman Islamia hall as a multi-storeyed building. The beautification work of the building was going on, he said.
“We have also built residential schools for minority children. We believe in working for people and serving them. On the other hand, you know how some people have done no work but are trying to create an atmosphere of unrest in society by unnecessarily digging up controversies. You know that we have worked to create an atmosphere of love and brotherhood,” the CM said.
Enumerating his next goal of giving new dimensions of development, providing better facilities to the people in rural areas and providing youth with newer and better employment opportunities, Nitish further said that if he was voted to power, he would work on the Saat Nischay part-2” programme.
“We have already said that we have “zero tolerance” policy on crime, corruption and communalism. We are working for the betterment of environment through our ‘Jal Jeevan Hariyali Abhiyan’. We will provide irrigation water to every farm," he said at the gathering at Raniganj in Araria district.
