Bihar: Criminals loot Rs 25 lakh after killing fertilizer trader’s minor son in Bhagalpur

PATNA: Unidentified armed criminals looted Rs 25 lakh from a fertilizer trader’s minor son after shooting him dead near Bhawnathpur bagicha under Akbar Nagar police station area in Bhagalpur on Thursday.
DSP (law and order) Neshar Ahmed Shah said that the slain youth was identified as Shivam Kumar, aged around 17 years. Shah said he was resident of Khaira village under Akbar Nagar police station area where his father Anuj Deo Singh runs a wholesale fertilizer shop.
Shah said that four bike borne unidentified criminals intercepted Shivam when he was going to deposit Rs 25 lakh in Canara bank’s branch which was around two kilometres away from Khaira at around 1pm.

“Shivam was travelling on a bike with another fertilizer trader named Aman Kumar who had reached at the village to meet Anuj. The trader became Shivam’s pillion when he was going to deposit money,” he said.
DSP Shah said Shivam put a strong resistance against the criminals when they intercepted him.
“He threw the bag filled with money in a roadside ditch and got involved in a scuffle after which criminals shot him and fled after looting the money. He was rushed to hospital but could not survive,” DSP said.
Shah said that police had recovered a loaded magazine of a country-made pistol from roadside where Shivam had threw the bag.

“Rs 50,000 in form of a bundle of currency of Rs 500 was also recovered by police from the ditch which perhaps had fell out when Shivam threw the bag. Aman, who was riding behind Shivam remained unhurt during the entire incident,” he said.
DSP said that police has registered an FIR against unknown persons after the slain teenager’s father recorded his statement before police in connection with the incident.
Shah said that further investigation were on in connection with the incident that if someone had tipped off the criminals from village about Shivam carrying money to deposit in bank. “Matter is being investigated from other possible angles too,” he added.
