PATNA: A woman allegedly killed her husband by crushing his face and head with a brick in Bihar's Lakhisarai district. The woman confessed that she was annoyed with his husband's drinking habit and that he used to to thrash her frequently.
The incident took place at village Kishanpur under Medni Chowk police station area of Lakhisarai. The killing came to light before the police on Sunday, after which the cops detained the woman on suspicion.
Medni Chowki police station SHO Rubykant Kachhap said slain person was identified as Sanjay Patel, aged around 45 years.

“The accused woman’s name is Rinki Devi, aged around 40 years. She is an Anganwadi worker,” she said.
SHO said police suspects she had killed Sanjay on Saturday night and kept his body hidden inside their residence.
She said Rinky was finally arrested on Tuesday after an FIR was lodged against her with Medni Chowki police station by Sanjay’s physically challenged brother Ajay Kumar.
Kachhap said someone had called excise control room informing about Sanjay creating ruckus after consuming alcohol on Sunday night.
SHO said a police patrolling team was sent at the village to arrest Sanjay.

“Police team had asked Sanjay’s whereabouts from Rinki after failing to trace him in village. That time, she had told police that her husband had fled towards fields. We suspect Rinki had killed him that time only and kept body hid inside their under-construction one-story house,” she said.
SHO said on Monday police received information about Sanjay’s body kept in front of his residence.
Kachhap said police went on spot and sent body for post-mortem. She said his one-room house was investigated after which bloodstains and broken bangles were found by police.
“Rinki was detained on suspicion and interrogated after which she confessed that Sanjay had started thrashing her in inebriated state which she retaliated with equal force on Sunday night and killed him by smashing his face and head using a brick,” she said adding Sanjay had been to jail at least thrice for his drinking habits.
SHO said Sanjay was unemployed and spent money on liquor by selling land owned by him in village which was another reason of dispute between the couple.
She said the couple has two daughters – one married and another studying in class-VIII and a physically challenged son. “The mother would be forwarded to judicial custody on Wednesday,” SHO added.
