Five players who are members of the Fiji Police Force are not likely to feature for Rewa in the 2020 Vodafone Fiji FACT which starts this weekend,

But Delta Tigers coach, Marika Rodu, says he has players in his squad who can deliver and get the job done.

The five players are goalkeepers Simione Tamanisau and Senirusi Bokini, strikers Gabiriele Matanisiga, Tevita Waranaivalu and Waisake Navunigasau.

They might miss their first match against Labasa at ANZ Stadium on Sunday.

And Rodu has been training the Under-19 players for the past two weeks.

“I am not sure when they will be back as they are on work commitments,” Rodu said.

“But we have almost 30 players in the squad where we can pick our team.

“For the U19, I have trained them for two weeks to see if any of them can play in the senior team and I will continue to work with them this week.

“They preparing for their U19 playoffs this weekend.

“They are working on that objective and also gives me an opportunity to pick some good players for Fiji FACT.

“But otherwise I have a lot of players here,” he added.

With both veteran goalkeepers out on duty, Rodu has backup players in Benito Waqavou and Jason Rokovucake.

“Ben has not played actually in the top flight competition this year but he has played in the local club games.

“We have been using Simi and Bokini in the season, but for now we have Ben and Jason.

“But for sure Simi and Bokini will be here in the second round when we head to Labasa.”
