LUCKNOW: The city’s Covid-19 case count crossed the 70,000 mark as 325 more persons tested positive for novel coronavirus on Wednesday.
For the seventh consecutive day, the number of new cases in 24 hours was more than that of recovered patients (196), resulting in a rise in active cases to 3,570. Of these, 2,305 are in home isolation and the rest in hospital.Five patients under treatment also lost the battle with the disease.
The number of cases and deaths in the city continued to be the highest in the state.
They accounted for 14% and 17% of UP’s Wednesday tally and toll respectively.
The caseload stood at 70,177. Of these 65,632 (94%) have recovered, while 975
(1.4%) could not survive.
Gomtinagar recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 36. It was followed by Indiranagar (29), Rae Bareli Road (22), Chowk (17), Alambagh (16), Hazratganj
(15), Aliganj (13) and Mahanagar (12). Vikasnagar, Krishnanagar and Jankipuram clocked 10 cases each.
