NEW DELHI: AAP’s corporation in-charge, Durgesh Pathak, on Wednesday alleged that BJP functionaries had started a fire at the Ghazipur landfill site to “defame” the Kejriwal government. Refuting the allegation, BJP claimed AAP was playing politics of accusations as it itself might be indulging in such acts.
“The garbage fire was not spontaneous but BJP functionaries have planned this. In the last 15 years, the BJP-run corporations have gifted three huge garbage mountains to Delhi,” Pathak said, demanding a fair investigation of the fire incident and strict action against the culprits.
“Due to the fire, Delhi people are facing difficulty in breathing.
This is only the result of corruption, incompetence and failure of BJP,” Pathak alleged.
Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta said party MP Gautam Gambhir had done an excellent job at the Ghazipur landfill. Every Delhiite knows that Gambhir has been working on a war footing for the past one and a half years and has been successful in reducing the height of the landfill to 50 feet, he added.
Gupta claimed that in the last six years, the CM had not visited the landfill even once and AAP government was creating chaos and fear among the public.
Pathak alleged that Gambhir and other BJP functionaries had been making false claims of reducing the height and had actually increased the landfill’s width.
