Lucknow Run spreads the message of good health

Lucknow Run is organized as an attempt to carry forward Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's Fit India campaign. The second edition of the run was organised on November 10, 2020. This time, due to COVID-19, the format of the run was virtual in which most of the participants ran in their homes and nearby places and took a pledge for a healthy city and a healthy nation.

The run was organised in more than 22 cities and thousands of people participated in it.
In Lucknow city, this run took place at Rajajipuram, Kukrail Picnic Spot, Janeshwar Mishra Park and Gomti River Front etc, in which a large number of citizens ran for health and fostered the message of healthy life, healthy nation.

Prominent among those who participated in the run were Minister Shri Swami Prasad Maurya, who ran close to his home with his grandson, Vinod Singh ADG, PAC, Ashok Kumar Singh, ADG, Traffic, Rajiv Mishra, GM, Union Bankof India, Power Minister Shrikant Sharma, Sandeep Bansal, President of Uttar Pradesh Vyapaar Mandal and Anil Gupta, Ritu Suhas, Joint Secretary LDA and Avadhesh Agarwal, Chairman, Indian Industries Association.

Several women members also participated in the run and were honored under the Mission Shakti Yojana of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. KK Aggarwal and RP Tiwari awarded badges to all participants.

In the words of Vinod Singh "It was a wonderful experience; one of its kind. Wherever you see, the enthusiasm for Lucknow Run was so very evident and the participation of the people was at its peak." Iron Man Kishley Rai said that particpating in the run was a memorable experience. "After being confined to homes due to Corona, this was a great opportunity for people to get out of the house and become health conscious."

The run was organized in four categories of 21, 10, 5 and 3 km and the winners were rewarded by Sandeep Bansal, President of Uttar Pradesh Trade Board at Rajajipuram. The winners were also given cash prizes.
