Indian Railway’s toll-free security helpline number 182 proved to be very effective leading to the arrest of the foreign nationals.
As per the officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway, the Alipurduar Security Control of the Railway Protection Force received a call from a passenger on the helpline number complaining about the misbehaviour of some passengers in Agartala – New Delhi Special Rajdhani Express. The officials informed the matter to their counterpart at New Jalpaiguri who conducted a search and made the arrests.
The foreign nationals were not carrying any Indian identity cards and were travelling on tickets generated in the name of others, the officials said.

During interrogation it was found that all of them fled from the Refugee Camp of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh and entered India, they added.
A case under section 14A Foreigner’s (Amendment) Act has been registered. On 25th November, the accused were were produced before the Magistrate who sent them to judicial custody.
