Leopard mauls 2-year-old boy to death

Rajkot: A two-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard on Thursday morning in Luhari Mauli village of Gir Gadhda taluka in Gir Somnath district. According to the forest department, the leopard grabbed Dhaval Joriya while he was playing nearby a farm where his parents were working. This village falls in Jasadhar range of Gir east division of forest department.When the parents started screaming, the wild cat left the child and ran away into the jungle. The boy received injuries on his shoulder and back and was taken to a hospital in Una town where he succumbed to his injuries within a couple of hours. The forest department has set up cages to capture the man-eater.
