GHMC polls: Amit Shah says BJP will liberate Hyderabad from Nizam culture
Hyderabad: Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the BJP would remove encroachments in Hyderabad and also liberate it from the ‘Nizam culture’ to turn it into a flood-free and global information technology hub.

Speaking to the media after holding a road show here, he accused the Owaisi family of All India Majils-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) of encouraging encroachments with the clandestine support of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) that caused heavy floods in the city.

Shah also accused the AIMIM president and Hyderabad Lok Sabha member Asaduddin Owaisi of stalling the process of weeding out the illegal migrants from the old city of Hyderabad.

In a separate meeting, the BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay has vowed to conduct surgical strikes on the old city to weed out Rohingyas and illegal migrants from Pakistan within 24 hours of being voted to power in Hyderabad. He suspected a large conspiracy behind reducing strength of Hindus and deletion of their votes from the voters’ list in the old city.

Appealing to the people of Hyderabad to give the saffron party a chance in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls, Shah promised that the BJP will change the city from dynasty to democracy, from corruption to good governance, and from clandestineness to transparency.

“There will be neither appeasement nor any discrimination if the BJP comes to power in Hyderabad,” assured Shah. The union home minister said it was thanks to Sardar Petel that Hyderabad was liberated from the rule of Nizam, who was then preparing to merge into Pakistan. BJP now wants to liberate Hyderabad from the Nizam culture and turn it into a mini India, he said, adding that Hyderabad can’t afford one Nizam after another.
