LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (AP) - A man remains missing after a fishing boat overturned near a Tennessee dam, authorities said.
The boat with two men aboard overturned Saturday below the Fort Loudoun Dam, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said in a statement. One of the men was pulled from the water and taken to a hospital.
The agency said it worked with the Tennessee Valley Authority to halt the discharge of water from the dam to establish safe conditions in order to search for the missing boater.
The fishing boat was heavily damaged after being pulled into the dam’s spillway, the statement said.
