AR Rahman, as the ambassador for the BAFTA ‘Breakthrough Initiative’!

AR Rahman, an Academy Award-winning music composer, was announced as the ambassador for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ (BAFTA) ‘Breakthrough Initiative.’

The initiative, upheld by Netflix, intends to recognize, celebrate, and uphold five talents working in film, games, or TV in India.

Rahman stated he is excited to work with BAFTA to find talents that the nation has to offer. “This is a unique opportunity for promising artistes to be supported by a world-renowned organization, to not only make connections with other talented creatives across the world but to be mentored by BAFTA-winners and nominees.” He added

BAFTA Breakthrough India will help encourage the developments of relations between British talent and India’s local creatives

Berry said, “He is well-positioned to support the initiative, with his broad spectrum of work drawing recognition across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films, which will help BAFTA to appeal to a wide section of the industry.”

A jury of British and Indian industry experts being a part of BAFTA Breakthrough India will choose five talents from India to participate in the year-long mentoring and guidance program.

The participants will get one to one mentoring, worldwide networking opportunities, free admittance to BAFTA events and screenings for a year, and full voting BAFTA membership.
