There was a huge shock for this year's I'm A Celebrity contestants on Monday night when two of them were given their marching orders by the public.

After speculation hours before, hosts Ant and Dec confirmed at the start of tonight's episode that there there'd be a double eviction, with a pair of celebs being kicked out after the departures of Hollie Arnold and Ruthie Henshall.

And after highlights from Sunday including Ruthie belting out a classic from Oliver and Russell Watson doing his first solo trial, the Geordie duo dropped the elimination bombshell on the unsuspecting campmates, who assumed just one more of them would be leaving.

I'm A Celebrity viewers had nearly an hour to cast their votes before Ant and Dec headed into the contestants' living quarters to deliver the bad news.

Ahead of the show, bookies said it was a three horse race between BBC journalist Victoria Derbyshire, Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard and opera singer Russell as to who would get the boot.

And in the end they proved to be right as it was indeed those three who were in the bottom, with Beverley and Victoria voted out.

Their campmates looked visibly moved as the pair said their goodbyes, but Beverley assured them: "I'm good," and Victoria left with a big smile on her face.
