Odisha: 52-year-old held for threatening bus driver with fake pistol

Fifty-two-year-old Angada Sethy of Nilakanthapur village under Bhuban police station limits was arrested and produced in court on Monday for carrying a fake pistol and threatening a bus driver, a two days back.

ANGUL: Fifty-two-year-old Angada Sethy of Nilakanthapur village under Bhuban police station limits was arrested and produced in court on Monday for carrying a fake pistol and threatening a bus driver, a two days back.
A bus was on its way to Bhuban-Jeypore area from Cuttack when three youths on a motorcycle overtook the bus. This resulted in an argument between the bus driver and the miscreants.
At Nilakanthpur, the same persons stopped the bus by blocking its path with the motorcycle.
They attacked the driver and broke one windshield of the bus. One person entered the bus with the pistol and assaulted the driver, conductor and helper.
The bus driver, Duryodhan Swain, had lodged a complaint with Bhuban police station . Superintendent of police-in-charge (Dhenkanal) Jagmohan Meena said raids are being conducted to nab the other two accused.
The incident caught the attention of DGP Abhay after OSAP sepoy Himanshu Sekhar Patra, who was travelling in the bus, pounced upon the miscreant and snatched his pistol, forcing him to flee.
