Mumbai: Actress files rape complaint, actor booked

MUMBAI: The police booked a theatre actor on charges of rape based on a complaint lodged by an actress-writer. No arrest has been made yet.
In her complaint, the woman said that the two met during the casting for a film project. They became friends. He forced her to get intimate with him after promising to marry her in July, she said. The two then moved into a friend's house, where he sexually assaulted her again.She said that even after she got her own apartment, he continued to force himself on her.
In October, when she asked him about marriage in front of friends, he refused and called her names.
A few days later, she found she was pregnant and asked the accused to accompany her to the hospital. He did not. The woman had a miscarriage and confided in her family, after which she filed a complaint on November 25.
