I'm A Celebrity's Bev Callard addressed whether she really is vegan as she was voted off the show.

Doubters had asked if the Coronation Street legend was following a plant-based diet after she was seen eating a scotch egg and bread and butter during her experience in the Welsh castle.

But fans of the ITV reality show pointed out that they would have been vegan versions.

Ant and Dec quizzed her

Viewers also pounced when the Liz McDonald actress enthused over winning a Jammy Dodger biscuit, until it was pointed out that the recipe had been changed this year.

During the Frights of the Round Table eating challenge, the 63-year-old ate 'vomit fruit' and fermented plums and tofu instead of animal parts.

Earlier this month Bev's former Corrie co-star Simon Gregson, who plays her son Steve, added to the discussion.

Hosts Ant and Dec brought up the subject and read out Simon's comments, and she was asked to 'come clean.'

But she told them she really is vegan and had changed her diet after having surgery.

"I started it in March because I had an operation and I saw a documentary that said your joints heal quicker."

On Simon's comments she joked: "I'll give him slap when I see him."
