The two services launched by the Odisha chief minister include the Customer Integrated Management Services (CIMS) and Stockyard Management System (SMS).
BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday virtually launched two online services of the state-PSU Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) that aims to transform the online sales process of minerals and despatch management with transparency.
The two services launched by the chief minister include the Customer Integrated Management Services (CIMS) and Stockyard Management System (SMS).
With the CIMS, customers will now get access to a separate dashboard for registration, evaluating order and stocks, get weekly dispatch report, order status, region wise total sale, grievance status and mineral wise dispatch history.
It has also been integrated with the integrated mines and mineral management system (i3MS) and e-auction platform of MSTC, said an official statement.
Similarly, the key components of the stockyard management system include unmanned weighbridges, transport scheduling, digital identification, parking management, real time reporting, multi-point mobile applications for real time data reconciliation. The Baliparbat stockyard within the Daitari iron ore mines include will be covered under the SMS.
“OMC is currently one of the fastest growing PSUs of the country in the mining sector. It has demonstrated its customer-focus vision and integrity of the stockyard management,” said Naveen adding the PSU has significantly contributed for the development of the state.
The chief minister also appreciated the role of OMC during the Covid pandemic and its support to the chief minister’s relief fund and various welfare measures.

As mining is a sensitive sector with large socio-economic and environmental implications, Naveen lauded OMC for its social responsibility with support to schemes like Aaahar, Adarsh Vidyalayas and development of sports.
The state PSU currently sales three major minerals--iron ore, chromite and bauxite while it has also obtained clearances for a khondolite mine. Production in the khondolite mine will start shortly, said an OMC official.
While OMC’s iron ore production is estimated at 12.39 million tonne (MT) in 2019-20, the company sources said it is on its path to cross 20 MT per annum iron ore production by 2021-22 financial year.
