Maharashtra: Murder suspect held after 3 months in UP

PUNE: Wakad police on Tuesday arrested a 21-year-old murder suspect who was on the since August.
The suspect Sandip Lalji Kumar was taken into custody from Bhadohi district in Uttar Pradesh with the help of local police. Assistant inspector of Wakad police Harish Mane and his team has made the arrest.
Kumar and his accomplices on August 16 had abducted Santosh Angarakh (42) from Rahatani and had burried him at a secluded spot near Kasarsai dam after bludgeoning him to death.

Senior inspector of the Wakad police Vivek Mugalikar told TOI that victim had taken money from the suspected sand supplier under the pretext of obtaining disability certificate from the government for the suspect's relative and duped him. "As the victim was not returning the money, the suspect and his two accomplices abducted him and killed him," Mugalikar said.
After the murder Kumar had fled to Uttar Pradesh. "With the help of technical investigation, we took him into custody," Mugalikar said.
