The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has finalized the schedule for the 2020 state football finals.Officials made the announcement Tuesday for the games, which are set to be played Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19 at Kroger Field in Lexington.According to the KHSAA, three games will be played on each day.The championship games scheduled for Dec. 18 include 1A at 11 a.m., 2A at 3 p.m. and 4A at 7 p.m. The schedule for Dec. 19 is 3A at 11 a.m., 5A at 3 p.m. and 6A at 7 p.m.Louisville area teams that remain contenders in the playoffs include Male (6A), North Hardin (6A), St. Xavier (6A), Trinity (6A), Fairdale (5A), North Bullitt (5A), John Hardin (4A), CAL (3A), Elizabethtown (3A), Holy Cross (1A) and KCD (1A). According to the KHSAA, when the playoffs reach the fourth round, these guidelines will be in place:If one team from a game withdraws by Wednesday at 6 a.m., the team defeated in the prior round by the withdrawing team is offered the opportunity to replace that team.If the team defeated in the prior round declines, the other losing team in that pod is offered the opportunity to replace the withdrawn team.Withdrawals after that point are not replaced.Officials said fourth-round matchups will be determined by the RPI on a statewide basis in all classes with the highest remaining seed hosting the fourth-highest remaining seed, and the second-highest remaining seed hosting the third-highest remaining seed.Click here for more information from the KHSAA.
