India haven't had the ideal start to their much-anticipated tour of Australia and one of their main issues has been a misfiring bowling attack. Central to India's problems is Jasprit Bumrah's form (or the lack of it) with the new ball. The India pacer, ranked World No. 2, has achieved an unwanted feat in 2020 which hasn't been good for star India players.

Jasprit Bumrah has finished the calendar year without managing to pick up a wicket in the powerplay in ODI cricket. However, it has been his inability to strike early with the new ball that has hurt India.

India vs Australia, Canberra ODI: Live Updates

Jasprit Bumrah has bowled 34 overs in the powerplay and has not struck at all. Bumrah's poor showing has reflected in India's performances as well. Virat Kohli's men have lost 5 ODIs on the trot for the first time under the India star's captaincy.

Virat Kohli gave Jasprit Bumrah 5 overs in the powerplay in the 3rd ODI in Canberra on December 2. However, his dry run in the first 10 overs continued as he gave away 19 runs without being able to pick up a wicket. Bumrah was unlucky as Shikhar Dhawan dropped a sitter at first slip, giving Australia captain Aaron Finch a reprieve in the star pacer's over.

It has not been a good year for skipper Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan as well. While Kohli finished 2020 without an ODI hundred -- the first time he has done so in a calendar year since 2008, Dhawan ended the year without a ton in ODIs for the first time since 2013.
