Chennai Metro Rail gets World Safety Organisation award

CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has been given the International Award 2020 by the World Safety Organisation (WSO), US, for its efforts to maintain safety standards and periodic conduct of safety programmes for the engineers and staff and ensuring safety of people, property and the environment.
CMRL won the award under the WSO Concerned Company/Corporation category.
WSO presents the annual award to WSO concerned companies or corporations that ensure struct safety standards.Every year, six companies are selected.
“The award was presented to CMRL in recognition of ensuring exemplary safety standards, effective maintenance of safety records, periodic conduct of safety /environment programmes to the site engineers /staff on various aspects of safety measures to be followed for protection of people, property, resources, environment and for showing distinctive concern for the well-being of its employees and local community,” a release said.
