    IIT Delhi students bag over 300 job offers on Day 1 of placement season

    "Given the current situation with travel restrictions in many countries, many companies are primarily recruiting for domestic profiles as of now. These may convert to international offers if the situation changes," stated the institute in a release.
    New Delhi: Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Delhi students received over 300 job offers including pre-placement offers (PPOs) on Day 1 of the placement season that kicked off virtually on December 1.

    The students at the institute have received around 150 PPOs (including PPOs for international locations) as of now. Top recruiters on Day 1 in terms of number of students recruited included Microsoft, Intel, Goldman Sachs.

    "Given the current situation with travel restrictions in many countries, many companies are primarily recruiting for domestic profiles as of now. These may convert to international offers if the situation changes," stated the institute in a release.

    “We are confident that given the new ways of recruiting and our scheduling paradigm; companies will be able to make good hiring decisions," Anishya Obhrai Madan, Head, Office of Career Services (OCS), IIT Delhi said.

    The internship hiring season at IIT Delhi for the academic year 2020-21, started in September 2020. The internship offers crossed over 350 in the phase 1.

    The final placements will span 6 months from December to May. Around 300+ national and international organisations offering 500+ job profiles across multiple sectors have already registered for placements at IIT Delhi.
