This morning, I noticed something different was going on with Dunkin's Facebook Profile.

They had switched their logo to purple and green colors. I thought that was an interesting choice for a holiday color scheme, so I clicked on their profile for more information. What I found was exciting, and interesting:

There's a new drink in town - it's the Sugarplum Macchiato! I was definitely excited when I saw this because purple is my favorite color, but then I was also intrigued because I didn't realize that sugarplums are an actual fruit. I've really only heard of them in The Nutcracker (aka the Sugarplum Fairy), or in Christmas scented soaps.

If you also thought sugar plums were fictional like I did, check out this definition from Wikipedia.

sugar plum can be a piece of dragée or hard candy made of hardened sugar in a small round or oval shape.

There you have it! It's candy, not even a plum. Which actually makes sense for a coffee flavor! The berry flavors and vanilla notes in the drink sound amazing, and the purple is really pretty, so I think I am going to give this coffee a try. Will you be stopping at Dunkin for a Sugarplum Macchiato?
